Both sides held in-depth discussions on potential tourism promotion initiatives aimed at attracting more Chinese tourists to Pakistan. On July 1, 2026, Consul General Mr. Tanvir A. Bhatti met with a delegation led by Mr. Li Feng, General Manager, and Ms. Lei Qiuyan, Manager of the Compliance and Risk Control Department, from Guizhou Jukun Private Equity Fund Management Co., Ltd.BESS,  home appliances, and agriculture. Consul General Mr. the latest policy directions which focus on industrialization and technological development, as well as the upcoming B2B Investment Conference in the pharmaceutical sector to be held in Karachi from July 16 to 19, and extended a warm welcome to relevant companies for registration. On June 23, 2026, Mr. Talha Bin Khalid, Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General of Pakistan in Chengdu, met with a delegation led by Secretary Zhang Zhonghui, and Deputy Secretary-General Wang Guohua from Sichuan Pharmaceutical Industry Association.The meeting focused on bilateral pharmaceutical cooperation. The Deputy Consul General commended Sichuan’s pharmaceutical industry progress and highlighted its strong relevance to the upcoming Pakistan–China Pharmaceutical, Healthcare and Bio-technology Investment Conference in Karachi this July, and extended a warm welcome to companies for registration.The Consulate General will continue to act as a bridge, comprehensively advance cross-regional exchanges and facilitate mutually beneficial cooperation for both parties.

On June 16, Mr. Tanvir A. Bhatti, Consul General of Pakistan in Chengdu, attended the 2026 Diplomatic Missions Experience of Traditional Chinese Medicine & Facilitation of Medical Services for Foreigners in Sichuan, co-hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of Sichuan Province and the Sichuan Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine.During the event, the Consul General visited exhibitions of traditional Chinese medicine, experienced classic therapies including pulse diagnosis, moxibustion and tuina massage, and took part in fun activities such as Baduanjin exercise and Dragon Boat Festival sachet making.This event has deepened the Consulate General's understanding of traditional Chinese medicine culture and created favorable conditions for Pakistan and Sichuan to expand cooperation in the field of traditional medicine.

On 9 June 2026, Mr. Tanvir A. Bhatti, Consul General of Pakistan in Chengdu, met with Director Zhou Mingzhu, Executive Director Zhao Ning, and Secretary‑General Xia Dawei from the newly established China‑Pakistan International Economic, Trade and Cultural Reception Hall in Chengdu. A China‑Pakistan cooperation and exchange symposium was convened, during which both sides held substantive and cordial discussions covering economic and trade cooperation, talent cultivation, cultural exchanges, and industrial cooperation. The Consulate General will continue to serve as a bridge for cooperation, actively advancing cross‑regional exchanges and mutual learning. On June 8, the Consulate General of Pakistan in Chengdu and the Pakistan Study Centre of Sichuan University co-hosted a China-Pakistan friendly badminton tournament at the Wangjiang Campus of Sichuan University to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.Mr. Tanvir A. Bhatti, Consul General of Pakistan in Chengdu, delivered an opening speech at the event. He noted that China and Pakistan enjoy an all-weather ironclad friendship, with sports serving as a vital bond to strengthen people-to-people connections. He commended Sichuan University for their consistent contributions to China-Pakistan bilateral cooperation. The Consul General, along with Chinese and Pakistani teachers and students, competed amid a friendly atmosphere. On June 6, Tanvir A. Bhatti, Consul General of Pakistan in Chengdu, attended the opening ceremony of the academic seminar “China-Pakistan Community with a Shared Future: Retrospect and Prospect” hosted by the Pakistan Research Center of Sichuan University. Staged to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan. The event brought together over 40 domestic experts and scholars, and His Excellency Luo Zhaohui, former Director-General of the China International Development Cooperation Agency and former Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, was also in attendance.Mr. Tanvir A. Bhatti delivered the opening remarks at the Symposium underscoring the 75‑year all‑weather partnership between Pakistan and China. He highlighted the transformative impact of CPEC on bilateral and regional development, outlined emerging regional opportunities and commended the center’s continued role in advancing academic exchanges between the two countries.The Consulate will further academic cooperation with Sichuan’s universities and consolidate bilateral friendship via people-to-people interactions.

On June 5, the opening ceremony of the 2026 Pakistan Cultural Week, co-hosted by the Consulate General of Pakistan in Chengdu, Sichuan Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Sichuan Women’s Federation, kicked off at Sichuan Women and Children Center.In the opening speech, Mr. Tanvir A. Bhatti, Consul General of Pakistan in Chengdu highlighted the all-weather ironclad friendship between China and Pakistan. He expressed gratitude for Sichuan’s long-standing support for Pakistan’s trade and people-to-people exchanges in the province and looked forward to deepening Sichuan-Pakistan cooperation in culture, tourism and youth programmes, alongside expanding practical Belt and Road cooperation through this initiative.The cultural segment unfolded with vibrant Pakistani folk performances, including traditional songs, ethnic dances, and soulful Rubab recitals that highlighted Pakistan’s rich heritage.
