General Regulations
  • The Consulate General does not issue any certificates on its own and only counter-attests certificates/affidavits already attested by the Foreign Office of Pakistan or China.
  • All documents issued from Pakistan or China must be attested by their respective Foreign Offices.
  • The fee for document attestation is collected by scanning a QR code (via the Alipay APP) available at the Consulate. No cash fee is received by the Consulate
  • For attestation of any document, applicant must bring Original Passport, CNIC and Visa along with copies.
  • If any document Apostille attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad or their other Foreign Affairs Liaison Offices (FALO) in Karachi, Lahore, Gujrat, Peshawar and Quetta will not be re-attested by the Consulate.
  • Renewal of Passport/CNIC: Applicant download PakID application for renewal of Passport/CNIC.

General Visa Instructions

Applicants are advised to carefully read the following instructions to ensure smooth and speedy processing of E-Visas:

  1. We strictly discourage visa processing through travel agents, visa processing companies, and middlemen.
  2. Minimum 6 months valid passport is required for visa processing.
  3. Applicant’s physical presence in China is mandatory for issuance of visa.
  4. Holders of Diplomatic and Official Passports of the People’s Republic of China do not require a visa to visit/stay in Pakistan for up to one month.
  5. Applicants must upload only original supporting documents (no faxed, photocopied, or emailed documents will be accepted).
  6. Applicant’s family includes spouse, son, daughter, father, and mother. Only those Chinese nationals can invite their families who have valid Work/Resident/Student visas of Pakistan.
E-Visa Specific Instructions
  1. Before starting the E-Visa application, ensure you have:
    • Electronic versions of photograph and supporting documents (each up to 200 KB).
    • A valid credit/debit card for online payment (USD 8.8 for Chinese nationals; varies for others).
  2. Fill in the visa application form completely and correctly. Fields marked with (*) are mandatory.
  3. Select the nearest Visa Office:
    • Embassy in Beijing
    • Consulates General in Shanghai, Chengdu, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong

    Note: Applicants may be required to appear for an interview at the selected office.

  4. Carefully select the visa category, as it cannot be changed later.
