From May 19 to 24, 2026, Mr. Tanvir A. Bhatti, Consul General of Pakistan in Chengdu, was invited to Chongqing to attend the 2026 Chongqing International Friendship Cities Cooperation Conference and the 8th Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT). He actively engaged in key events promoting opening-up and cooperation, further advancing friendly relations between Pakistan and Chongqing.

Mr. Consul General also attended the opening ceremony of the 2026 Chongqing International Sister-City Food & Culture Carnival and delivered a speech. He shared the culinary culture of Pakistan and expressed his hope that, using food as a bridge, Pakistan and Chongqing would deepen exchanges in cultural tourism, economy and trade, as well as people-to-people interactions, allowing the friendship between China and Pakistan to grow even stronger amid the flavors of daily life.
