Friendly Badminton Match Marks 75 Years of China-Pakistan Diplomatic Relations
On June 8, the Consulate General of Pakistan in Chengdu and the Pakistan Study Centre of Sichuan University co-hosted a China-Pakistan friendly badminton tournament at the Wangjiang Campus of Sichuan University to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Mr. Tanvir A. Bhatti, Consul General of Pakistan in Chengdu, delivered an opening speech at the event. He noted that China and Pakistan enjoy an all-weather ironclad friendship, with sports serving as a vital bond to strengthen people-to-people connections. He commended Sichuan University for their consistent contributions to China-Pakistan bilateral cooperation. The Consul General, along with Chinese and Pakistani teachers and students, competed amid a friendly atmosphere. Awards were presented to the participants after the tournament.
Leveraging sports, the event deepened bilateral friendship and grassroots exchanges. The Consulate General of Pakistan in Chengdu would arrange more cultural activities moving forward to further consolidate China-Pakistan friendly relations.
